Alessio Cornia, Ph.D. in “Social and Political Theory and Research”, is Ricercatore [Researcher/Assistant Professor] at the Department of Political Science (University of Perugia). He took part at several EU-funded projects: ‘Adequate Information Management in Europe’ (AIM) (Sixth Framework Programme), aimed at creating a better understanding of news reporting in Europe, ‘Opti-Alert’ (7th FP), aimed at enhancing the efficiency of alerting systems through targeted and culturally sensitive communication, and ‘Anticorrp’ (7th FP), aimed at analysing the global trends and the European responses to the challenge of corruption. His research interest is in the relationship between journalism and politics, with a focus on EU journalism and election campaigns coverage analysis, and in risk and crisis communication. He published a monograph (Notizie da Bruxelles, 2010, FrancoAngeli) and a number of articles on relevant scientific journals (among which European Journal of Communication, Journalism, Journal of Risk Research and Comunicazione Politica).
