Professor Alexander Stoyanov (Team Leader) is a leading international expert on corruption and crime. He is CSD’s Director of Research and head of CSD’s social and market research unit – Vitosha Research. He is a Member of the United Nations Advisory Council on the implementation of the UN Convention against Corruption. He is also advisor to the UNODC on the development of the UN Crime and Corruption Business Survey. Since 1990 he has managed the design and implementation of more than 200 quantitative and over 150 qualitative projects in the fields of social and economic behaviour, corruption, crime-victimisation, social justice, and market research. In the past 6 years Professor Stoyanov has led the implementation of Eurobarometer’s surveys in Bulgaria. He is among the designers of Bulgaria’s state of the art Corruption Monitoring System developed by CSD to measure the spread of corruption through public perception and victimisations surveys back in 1998.
